Summer is Festival Time in Down East Maine

The area holds many wonderful community events that draw large crowds every
year:  Outdoor concerts, local theater productions, kayaking tours, schooner tours of
the many bay areas and islands to view puffins, or meander along botanical walks,
or hike adventurous coastal trails.  When you come to Washington County you will
undoubtedly feel a community spirit that abounds the very shores it's built on.  
While you're here you might want to venture into our quaint communities and
sample the local flavor of our"downeast" heritage, visit with many fine artisans,
taste our local fare and get to know an authentic area of Maine.
